ABOUT THIS INFORMATION
The information provided below describes, as required by the EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter the “Regulation”), the processing operations performed on the personal data of the users of the thematic website of the University of Verona (hereinafter, the "University"), available online at the following link: https://dostoevsky-studies.dlls.univr.it
The management of the contents and publication of the journal are carried out using Open Journal Systems (OJS) by Public Knowledge Project (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/).
Please note that this information does not apply to any websites, online web pages or services that, although accessible through links published on the website, are based on resources external to the University’s website.

PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASIS FOR THE PROCESSING
The personal data of the website users are processed by the University in order to manage, check and enable the access to the website, the use of the website and online services made available by the University through the same website (e.g. anonymous consultation of the contributions, newsletter subscription, user registration as Reader, Author or Editor).
Personal data may be processed also in order to obtain statistical information useful for improving the functioning of the website and the user experience, also through the use of analytical cookies. The legal basis for the processing is the performance of the duties of public interest of the University, or duties related to the exercise of its public powers (anonymous consultation of contributions) and the fulfilment of contractual or pre-contractual obligations (use of the service).
Providing personal data for the above reasons is not mandatory. However, refusal to provide us with your data will result in you being unable to use certain functions or services of the website.
The legal basis of the processing for the communication of general announcements or notices on the publication of new articles via newsletters is the explicit consent of the concerned user: such consent is optional but essential to enable such communications. Your consent can be revoked anytime by following the instructions for subscription cancellation available online and in each newsletter.
CATEGORIES OF PERSONAL DATA
Browsing data
The information systems and software procedures adopted to operate this website acquire personal data as part of their standard functioning; the transmission of such data is an inherent feature of Internet communication protocols. This data category includes the IP addresses and/or the domain names of the computers and terminal equipment used by any user, the URI/URL (Uniform Resource Identifier/Locator) addresses of the requested resources, the time of such requests, the method used for submitting a given request to the server, returned file size, a numerical code relating to server response status (successfully performed, error, etc.), and other parameters related to the user's operating system and computer environment.

Data communicated by users
The following personal data communicated by the users of the website for purposes related to the use of online services as outlined above are also processed:
- personal data and contacts (name, surname, sex, phone number, fax, e-mail address, postal address);
- ORCID, biographical notes, institution of affiliation, language skills, areas of interest (peer review).
DATA RECIPIENTS
Data processed for the above-mentioned purposes will be available to the employees and collaborators assigned to the competent offices of the University, and the natural or legal persons who provide services to the University for the above purposes (e.g. cloud computing service providers).
Personal data may also be disclosed to other public administrations, if they have to process them for any procedures within their institutional jurisdiction.
INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER
Data will be transferred abroad on the server of the cloud computing service provider based in the European Union and certified AgID.
DATA RETENTION
The collected data will be kept for a period of time not exceeding the achievement of the purposes for which they are processed (“storage limitation principle”, pursuant to Art. 5 of Regulation), or in accordance with the deadlines set by law or regulations.
RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECTS
Data Subjects have the right to obtain from the University, where appropriate, access to their personal data as well as rectification or erasure of such data or the restriction of the processing concerning them, and to object to the processing (pursuant to Articles 15 and following of the Regulation).
Specifically, pursuant to Art. 7 of the Regulation, the Data Subjects concerned may at any time exercise their right to revoke their consent (also by the above methods), without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given previously.

RIGHT TO LODGE A COMPLAINT
If a Data Subject considers that the processing of personal data relating to him or her as performed here infringes the Regulation, he or she has the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority - “Garante per la protezione dei dati personali” (Art. 77 of the Regulation), or else to bring a judicial proceeding against the University pursuant to Article 79 of the Regulation.
