Echoes of Dante’s “Purgatorio” in the Epilogue of Crime and Punishment
The study is dedicated to the analysis of the presence of Dante’s Comedy in Dostoevsky’s major novels, even if the direct references are few. The author focuses particularly on common elements between the “Epilogue” of the novel Crime and Punishment and Dante’s Purgatorio, “Canti” XVIII, XXX, XXXI. In both texts space-time coordinates are similar and important and meaningful details offer unquestionable convergences.
